Sounds like those need an alignment as well.  Perhaps a previous owner has 
"tweaked" the radio a bit.  The Omni series radios have a very specific 
alignment procedure that must be followed.  It does require a signal 
generator capable of known and accurate frequency and known output level as 
well as a frequency counter of known accuracy.

Diddling with the radio with unknown test equipment accuracy will likely end 
up with a radio performing as you indicate.
