There is no requirement to include a callsign in messages to this
reflector, and including one does not prove that the sender of the
message is really the licensee. Even so, I have been told that Fern runs
a mobile radio repair business. It seems really strange someone with
that kind of experience cannot just look inside the amplifier and figure
out how ten meter functionality has been disabled.
Looking at some band switched amplifier schematics in the ARRL Handbook, and comparing that with what you see in the subject amplifier, how hard is it to figure this out? Someone who cannot figure this out, probably should not even take the covers off of an amplifier that uses 3-500Z. DE N6KB |
