[TenTec] Paragon II on AM

   I need some input that will help me decide whether to use the PII on AM or 
not.
The best transmit audio and scope pattern is with full power (25 watts carrier 
and
100ish on peaks).  That is fine except it is too much drive for the amp which I 
would
like to limit to 100 watts carrier (Ameritron AL-80B).
   This all is just for casual AM operation when I am too lazy to fire up the 
Valiant II.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am assuming the radio's ALC is used 
to limit
power at less than full setting.
