RS won't have DeoxIT. Other contact cleaners are poor excuses. Spray contact cleaners are NOT good for the radio leaving solvents in the insulators. Look to Antique Electronic Supply for DeoxIT, get a dropper bottle. Its not cheap, but used a quarter drop at a time, it will last decades in ordinary use.

Though the RS web page claims half the stores near here have spray cans in stock,

        DeoxIT™/ProGold™ Twin Pack Catalog #: 64-4338

To use the spray can properly, spray it into a metal pan, like the metal lid from a juice bottle. Then dip a tooth pick into the liquid and transfer a tiny drop to the switch contacts. DON'T SPRAY THE STUFF ALL OVER!

I have just been using the spray "contact" cleaner. Going to see if
the local RS has some De-oxit today and go from there.

Yes this is the digital one, and the following bands to not show the
correct frequency 3.5, 7, 29, and 29.5, and AUX. I assume AUX is not
working because the crystals are not there.

29 and 29.5 may also have been options not present.

One carefully executed application, and several rotations of the control,
should do it. Its a neophyte's error to put too much contact cleaner. 2-3
drops in to the holes of the plastic switch wafer cover is alot.

BTW, this is the digitial one, right? Do all of the bands come up with the
right frequency displayed on the digital readout?
