I used one quite a few times doing mobile CW for several 350-mile trips, and
also on long (more than an hour) highway commutes many times.  Did just
great (until I stopped doing mobile CW...)

High speed CW can be pretty drifty, but didn't bother me *too* much.  SSB
should be fine.  Scout lends itself well to mobile use due to its
simplicity.

I can't recommend any other Ten-Tec rig that's as well suited to mobile use.

The classic IC-706 is also a fantastic mobile rig.

Either should do nicely.
