Some games on XP have trouble because of the "sticky keys" feature. You must disable it, else each keystroke is evaluated before being sent to your intended destination. That might cause the choppy CW you describe.

I still use WIN98SE on my old laptop! I hear that N1MM works fine using
WIN7
but it is a bit hard to figure out for this old guy, and I haven't
succeeded
yet! :-( What kind of software are you using on win 95? I use TRLOG on my
win98 laptop.

I am thinking about buying a new laptop with Windows 7. I have a oldlap

with windows 95 and it works great talking to my rig and sending cw. I
made
up serial cable to key the Orion II
I have a newer desktop with xp and it chops the cw up.
Will the new laptops send cw like my old windows 95 laptop or must I use
something like MicroHam II to get the laptop to send smoth cw?
