Best I can tell, remoterig only remotes a few radios without a control
computer. Those rigs use a serial interface to a removable front panel
and allow for time delays between commands and responses or rig inquires
about control positions. Everything else it controls through the CAT
interface which requires a computer running software at the operating
position. A couple Tentecs have ethernet interface that controls well,
but also requires a computer at the control position.
As far as I can tell the only way to avoid relying on the shack computer
for remote control is to build a dedicated box with custom programming.
