After having a clock failure on OMNI VI+, the trimmer cap for the clock crystal was adjusted and the clock function was restored, but accuracy was lacking. It had always been spot on. Thinking now the trimmer did not age out of tolerance, the crystal did. Ordered a replacement from Mouser which was installed from the top side of the logic board without having to remove the logic board for the job. So far it is keeping perfect time. Mouser 520-ECS327-6-13-X. The trimmer does not change the crystal frequency, it matches circuit impedance. |
