How about one of the AADE (Almost All Digital Electronics) display kits?

Jerry, manual is available at http://tentec.com/files/Corsair%20Manual.pdf

Understood about wanting to stick with the PTO for the cleanest
possible signal. If you find a replacement for the display, please
post the info to the list.

One thing that appeals to me about the PTO option is getting a
smoother, weightier tuning action with variable tuning rate. I wish I
could install my hefty Omni 6 tuning knob on my Corsair, but the shaft
diameters are different.

Barry,
The reason I purchased the Corsair was to get rid of a DDS. I would not
want to ruin a perfectly good receiver by adding more digital noise/spurs to
it. I have other rigs which have a DDS in them if I want to listen to the
noise. :-) I am currently looking at a replacement for the Corsair II display.
It may also fit the Corsair I. However, I don't have enough info on how the
Corsair I works. Anyone have a manual I could look at?

No, I wouldn't assume your 68705 is going to fail anytime soon. If it
did, you could either:

1. purchase a parts rig to have spare boards on hand OR
2. replace the PTO with DDS VFO which could drive a freq. display directly

All,

I am new to the list and also new to the Corsair II I recently
purchased. I have seen some U10 problems recently. If U10 truly fails,
what are the options for repair? I have been told Ten Tec no longer has any
U10 (68705) ICs. Anybody know if that is true? I recently purchased a 288
filter and 263G VFO from a ham who had U10 fail. He decided to part out the
radio rather than repair it. I also see a corsair on QTH.Com which has U10
problems. Is the U10 problem something I should "look forward to?"
