I recall there was a spirited discussion of that modification here
on this list, with many comments, pro and con, so a search
within the archives of this group may prove fruitful, also.  Perhaps
it was on the Omni VII list, but I believe it was on this list.  Seems
some of the comments were most instructive - for example,
discussing how to drill out the retaining bar screw hole without
ending up with little shavings and burs inside the rig.
