I know this has been discussed at some length--and by the looks of my corsair
II several mods have been made--including a 16v 1000uF electrolytic capacitor
across one of the connector pins.
I can actually live with the popping to some extent but what I find annoying is
the S-meter that seems very non-responsive...it seems to just rise up to a
certain level and then just fall off as opposed to undulating with the
signal...perhaps a minor point, but I work a lot of low signal level cw and
enjoy experimenting with antennas...often the change in S-meter is the only
indication to determine what is working better. I also like to watch the
S-meter move about with the signal strength. Is the cap not discharging fast
enough?
If anyone has some thoughts on or off list I would welcome same.
