There is no ALC feedback connection from the amplifier to the Orion.
The Orion does its own ALC based on holding whatever power output it is
set for.

On Alpha amps we removed the ALC output about 10 years ago. The ALC voltage feedback from an amp only happens when when it is overdriven and by then it is too late, the radio should have been adjusted correctly in the first place. If the ALC voltage from the amp is set too high, the radio can't drive it to full output. Too many problems with ops mal-adjusting the ALC feedback from amps lead to our removing it completely from new production amplifier models. 73 - Glenn AE0Q On Tue, Dec 6, 2011 at 4:05 AM,<amsctalx@comcast.net> wrote:(snip) It may simply come down to which one works better with my Quadra...I'm not wild about the lack of ALC on the O-II. |
