Scott, rather than second guessing, or waiting for Paul to read this thread
by coincidence and offer suggestions, why don't you compose a list of
specific questions and call or email them to Ten-Tec.

I'm sure TT support can tell you the exact signal levels going into and
coming out of every module, perhaps every stage.
If you know that, and have a scope, you'll be able to quickly pinpoint the
faulty stage.
You are putting an awful lot of work into this project and you may have
already created another bug or two with all of the unnecessary replacement
of components.

At this stage in the game, nobody is going to be able to tell you what is
wrong with your radio, not even Ten-Tec's best technician or engineer.
You're either going to have to make some intelligent measurements, or else
replace every component in the radio, because Murphy will make sure that the
guilty culprit is the last component your replace! (hi)

Thanks Mike...checked most of what you have listed already including the VFO
Amp and I already replaced
the 2n3866's :)...

Time to look at the passive components on the LLD I think...it would be
helpful, however,
what the input level to the LLD is normally...

As to a mechanic, no...although I manage to do all my own engine work on my
TR6 myself! And thats Lucas Ignition!

cheers

scott

Yes, well things never seem to be simple...but I think some of your
assumptions may be off...the PA does work to some extent...even the micro
level of power going into it provides two-three watts out
