I would go on eBay and find a nice inexpensive dynamic microphone, such
as the Samson R31S, and wire it to the rig - probably cost you $15 - $20
all told, and he will have a nice microphone - I would be willing to
help scout it out with you, and make the cable if that would help. I
KNOW we could set him up pretty cheap and he
will sound good. I can send you a sound sample of that microphone
compared to expensive microphones like HEIL PRo20 and you will hear the
quality yourself. Just ask and I can send the sound clip.
Microphones are sort of my strong suit. I am all excited because QST
says it will publish my article on matching computer headsets to the rig
in a month or two.
