I'm working on an af circuit mod for the C2 to lower the noise but it's
still a work in progress. It's an easy rig to modify, so I encourage you
to experiment. Some approaches I'm taking are to minimize the op-amp
chain, seek a replacement for the RC4136 with lower noise op amps, and
adding a low pass audio filter. What would really be fantastic is a
redesigned if/af board that would be a drop-in replacement. But we'd need
a design guy to help with that one.
