it drew a bit more current on the 10 and 12 m bands,
so make sure the voltage to the radio isn't sagging

        Hmmm.... interesting observation, consistent
        with what others of other rigs, such as the
        TS-590s, have observed. If the supply voltage
        sags, so does RF power.  Some owners have
        adjusted supply power upward, as you have,
        and report it assures higher, more consistent
        output power.
