This has been an interesting discussion. But all of the comments seem to be about a contesting set up, not a DXing rig. As an avid DXer I think that what is best fot one is not necessarily best for the other.The two have different requirements.

As a low band chaser, I am always adjusting something when a new one is very weak and you are trying to pull it out of the noise. As far as I am concerned, computers are for logging and knobs are for tuning the radio, or making adjustments.
