I’m not sure and this is coming from memory, but I think there is (was) a
small lamp in the bezel that shined down on the skirt. Very much like the old
triton’s did.
Look at the rig upside down and see if you can’t spy the glass tube of a grain
of wheat bulb lurking above the dial skirt
