Could be that the Passband tuning is not correctly aligned as well. This
will make one sideband sound different from the other one.
A useful and quick check is to tune in WWV at 10 MHz in USB and then switch
to LSB. Adjust the VFO so there is no hetrodyne when changing between USB
and LSB modes. Then adjust the PBT to get the ticks and tone and voice
annoucements to sound the same. If the radio is not on frequency per the
display and the PBT is not centered, likely a detailed alignment is in
order.
