As an alternative, I suggest my multiple band vertical travel antenna which is easy to build an deploy:

This is a traveling version of my handy vertical antenna that DX-Engineering picked as one of its monthly design contest winners awhile back:

Also there is a cool lightweight wire antenna at aerial51.com that is interesting, but as it is a wire dipole, it may requires a little more space... while my design needs but a few feet either side of center.
