I agree, it was simple. Had to do mine last week. I do recommend getting a Torx screwdriver!

Replacing the battery is not at all difficult. Unless you have vision problems or unsteady hands, you should have no trouble.

Replacing the capacitors on the power board is only slightly more difficult. Again, barring eyesight or steadiness problems, you should be able to manage. If you've never replaced through-hole circuit board components, get a friend to help.

To all..

I finally had the memory backup battery fail on My Orion II. This
battery lasted over 8 years. Thanks for all the info and help on this group.

I located a battery for about $9 plus shipping. Install was 1.2 hours
and its working fine.
