I received a couple of direct e-mail responses and the solution is to hit the ST button and then the CW button. One guy told me that I posted this to the TT reflector back in 2010. :-)

It has been a couple of years since I've used my Omni VI Plus and I've
forgotten how to set the rig in standby and still key the side tone
oscillator. I used to be able to do this without even thinking about it and
now I can't remember.
I don't remember finding instructions in the manual, but I searched it in
case I was wrong about that, and, I couldn't find anything. It seems like I
learned how to do this from someone on this reflector.
Does anyone know how I can key the side tone oscillator without emitting
RF?
