Good to hear that you fixed it Ken. That's always a good feeling - finding the 
problem and fixing it cheaply.

I wonder if you'll really need to buy parts. I think these things are usually 
reliable. If you do, I see that kitsandparts.com has a VHF transistor that 
would work as a replacement (not sure if the pinout is the same, though) - 
MPSH10, $5 for 25 of them.
