There is an internal contrast adjustment. Don't know if this will help
in your case. Replacement of the display is the option. And where to
get one......don't have a clue.

Its a great running radio and screen is still easy to see once
contrast was adjusted. Is there a way to replace the backlight on
these displays? I know a display replacement is out of the question.
