The problem I had was a crappy power connector on the back of the radio. It 
would take off with the relay chatter almost every time I powered it up. I 
found the source of the problem when I moved the radio and it would 
intermittently start the chattering. Once I changed out the molex plug going to 
the power supply, I haven't had the problem again. That may be your problem as 
well.
