You are not going to damage the radio by using a long cable.
I would not be worried using 25 feet length. If you have ay RFI problems, just
pass the cable through a ferrite core for a few turns, with the ferrite coil on
the radio end of the cable.
The only reason I might hesitate to go longer would be the capacitance of the
cable, but you can determine that by trial-and-error.
