Ron, Have a look at the Ten-Tec tuner schematic. It's a slave to the CPU. It has some line buffers and serial to parallel latches. The ATU-100 has a controller, relays, and reactances. Clone the Ten-Tec portion, toss the controller portion of the kit, wire it up. Someone good with CAD and free time could clone the whole TT board.
