I recently sold my 556 Argo Scout to a friend who didn't have need of the
modules, microphone, and power supply, so time to sell them as well:
1) For Sale: Four (4) band modules as a packaged set - 40M, 20M, 15M, and 10M.
These four modules came with my previous 555 Scout when I bought it used in
1999. At this time, I'd prefer to try to sell the modules together, such as to
a new Scout owner who has need for all four. $200 buys all four modules as a
set, including postal mailing in the U.S. (Later, if no one needs all four,
then I will consider individual sales, but then the price will go up to $60 for
each individual module, mailing included.)
2) For Sale: Model 701 dynamic hand-held microphone. This mic has the 4-pin
rounded connection suitable for the 555/556 Scout, 516 Argonaut V, and the 562
6-and-2 meter rig, plus others. Why buy an eBay substitute if you can buy an
original 701 instead? I bought this microphone used with my used 556 Argo Scout
directly from Ten-Tec Sales in 2007, and was regularly used by me from 2007
through 2017. The rubberized coiled wiring has taken on a slight milky white
patina from aging, but the wiring is not brittle and the microphone otherwise
works. $50 if purchased together with the above four band modules. Otherwise
$60 if purchased separately.
3) For Sale: Model 937 power supply. This is Ten-Tec's 7-amp continuous/11-amp
IAS linear power supply that was originally sold in the 1990s to power the
Scout and other 50-watt or less radios (such as the Argonaut V or 6N2), and
will also power the newer 539 Argonaut VI QRP radio. I bought this power
supply used in 2017 (at a time when I thought I was going to be setting up a
second complete station that didn't happen), but I have never actually used
this power supply except for an initial power test when I received it. The
previous owner put a nice metal handle on one side to make the power supply
somewhat easier to carry for uses like a vacation home or a backyard field day.
$60, with shipping included (which will actually be the bulk of the cost due
to the weight of a linear power supply).
Payment by postal money order or bank cashiers check is preferred. (I am not
set up at all for electronic payment.) Please contact me directly if interested
Cheers/73,
