TenTec Power Supply, Remote VFO,
Filters, and Microphones For Sale:
.
TenTec 252 Power Supply:
The TenTec 252 is an older linear power
supply, often used with the Triton series
of HF rigs. It produces 13 V DC at up to
20 amps, making it suitable for most HF
transceivers.
It has a Molex 4 pin connector for output, as
well as RCA phono connectors.
It works 100% as it should.
It is a 252 M, which means it came
from the TenTec factory with a lighted
ammeter on it. It is a silver gray color
that matches the Triton IV or Triton 540 or
544.
It looks extremely nice. Buy it with
paper work for $100
.
TenTec 243 Remote VFO:
The TenTec 243 is a remote VFO for use with the
TenTec Omni 546 and 545 transceivers. It really
adds a lot of flexibility.
Using it with the Omni, you can do six things:
1) Transceive on the Omni
2) Transceive on the remote VFO
3) Transmit on Omni, receive on remote VFO
4) Transmit on remote VFO, receive on Omni
5) Transmit on Omni, receive on both the Omni
and remote VFO simultaneously
6) Transmit on the remote VFO and receive on
both the Omni and remote VFO simultaneously
.
I have a variety of TenTec filters available:
All of them work as they should and also look
fine, as if that matters for an internal filter.
.
The following filters are used in TenTec rigs
in the 9 MHz IF. This includes the Orion I,
as well as Omni series A, B, and C; Omni V,
Omni VI, Argosy, Paragon, and maybe others.
While these will fit the original Orion,
they do not fit the Orion II.

TenTec 708A Desk Microphone:
The 708 A desk mic is a standard desk mic used
with many TenTec rigs. This one has an 8 pin
plug wired for TenTec on it. This means it also
fits Yaesu rigs with the round 8 pin plug.
The 708 is a dynamic mic on a flexible goose
neck and is entirely metal, with no plastic
parts. It is similar to the TenTec 705 desk mic,
but MUCH more heavy duty.
This one works 100% and looks very close to
new, with one exception. The little peg used
for PTT has been broken. If you use VOX it
will be just perfect for you, as it works
great on VOX. Otherwise, you can activate
the PTT switch with tip of a pen or a small
screwdriver, or you could replace the switch.
It has no scratches or defects.
The wind screen is in good shape,
and it is still in its original box.
Buy it with paper work for $79.
.
TenTec 214 microphone:
The 214 looks very similar to the 215 (above),
but is brown in color.
Electrically, it is much different. It is an
electret mic, which means it has great frequency
response, but requires a polarizing voltage. It
has a 4 pin plug as used on TenTec rigs such as
the Corsair, Omni V or VI, Pegasus, Jupiter, and
others. It needs the four pins for mic audio, PTT,
polarizing voltage, and ground. Of course this could
be changed to an 8 pin plug, if desired.
This one works great and sounds great. Cosmetically
it is very nice.
With paper work for $79.
.
Astrocom Microphone Headset:
These are a set of extremely "noise reduction"
headset, along with a boom microphone connected
to them. They are terminated in a female 5 pin
DIN connector.
The cable is Astrocom 10274. The earphones
say Sonetronics on them. The microphone is
M-138/G, which is a dynamic mic with 150 ohm
impedance, and 300 to 7000 Mhz frequency
response.
One thing for sure. If you put these headphones
on, you do not hear any outside, extraneous
noise. Of course that is what one would want
from an aviation headset. Of course they work
well for ham use also.
They are very well made!
These work fine, and look fine.
Buy them for only $35
.
TenTec Hand Microphone:
This mic is similar to the TenTec model
700, although I do not find that number
on it. It is black plastic case, with
PTT switch. It is an electret mic, with
great frequency response, and a 4 pin
mic plug. $30
.
Regular Desk stand, about six inches high, round base.
It can be used with any mic requiring 5/8 inch 24
stand. $20
.
