Hello all,
I received e-mail messages from Phil, YB0ARA/9, yesterday. Here's the hilites:
*He is transmitting from Kuala Kencana, Timika, in Irian Jaya (the most
eastern island in Indonesia. In the ARRL Amateur Radio Map of the World the
island is called "New Guinea" -which is incorrect). He uses wire vertical
for 80 and 160 m band with a good ground plane.
*His address in the RAC Book 1997 is invalid (he left the QTH a long time ago)
*He asked us to be patient to get QSL cards from him as he will be in the
USA in a few months time. He'll be looking for a QSL Manager and/or to
buy cards in there prior to replying to confirm his all 80/160 contacts.
*He is also looking for any suggestions from you to find a QSL Manager for
him. He will be able to provide logs in AEA software and/or hardcopy.
I am planning to meet him in Jakarta in few weeks time. Hope I can update
the info to the Reflector
I hope this will ensure those who in doubts whether his operation
legitimate or not.
