There is no quantum behavior difference between the em wavefront we perceive
as rf and the em wavefront we perceive as light... The light "photon" being
more compact (shorter wavelength) has more energy than the radio "refton" ->
(copyright by K8DO) and thus interacts differently with the atomic shells of
given materials, as compared to a refton... for example, many plastics are
opaque to light wavelengths, but transparent to rf wavelengths...
So to directly answer your question: yes, a yagi-uda antenna creates
destructive and constructive interference patterns, the same as light does
with refractive surfaces such as glass, water, etc... in fact, you can model
a yagi-uda antenna with half silvered mirrors... and, of course, a parabolic
dish antenna is the direct analog of a flashlight...
Interestingly, you can also model a yagi-uda antenna in a wave tank and
actually see the driven wave and the reflected wave combine in the forward
direction and cancel to the rear...
