Hello all,
another very interesting night. I was going on the band at 21.00 utc, no signal
from JA, but the JA beverage was not ready.
Than I give some CQs, had a sked with Joe YB1AQS around this time, but also
nothing...after a few cqs a weak signal, Peter WW2Y come in 559 at 21.30,
half hour before his sunset. He said, he heard me earlier at 21.00 I think.
Later in the night I was chatting with Mike N7ML on 75m for more than 45 minutes
around his sunset time, beautiful signal all the time. In our QSO Bill KL7XX
comes in at 01.10 with a 53 signal( beverage to the north not on yet), so I
think to go back on topband. After a few CQs Bob W7LR comes with a fine 579
signal at 0142 utc, followed by N6FF a few minutes later.
Than N7UA, N6TR, KF7PG, AL7R, NL7Z comes with allmost signals between s3 to s7..
Very deep qsb, when Brent AL7R called me, I could not here him first, but Klaus
DJ6RX, who was on my QRG, heard him 599, than Brent comes up here, and was
going
down by Klaus.
After 03.00 someone must put off the big switch, nothing anymore...Think that
was it for today.
But no...after my sunrise, I heard a couple of G's wkd with ZL2JR, he was
abt S3
to 4 here readable. Than I tuned left and right...and a very big surprise, at
07.00 a week CQ DX on 1832.4 Tree N6TR/7, my local sunrise at 0552 at the
present time. I called him and we exchanged a report.
I was monitoring now Trees CQ for about more than 15 minutes, and gave hime
from
time to time a report, that he confirmed, he didnt go down, signal allmost
between 539...559, but, louder much on the vertical as on my 500m long beverage
to 320 °. Does he not come in the direct path?
At least 1,5 hoers after sunrise we give this little play off, he was still
readable here.
Its a pitty, that I dont hade a tape recorder here in the radioroom, must ask
santa claus for some...
I only know such effects from 80m, in the winter that signals from northwest US
coming louder long after sunrise, never see that on 160.
So at least a very intresting night.
See you the next days on top band and during the contest.
