Hello Rys,

The Slinky is a childs toy that has been popular in the USA for over 50
years. It is made of 80 + turns of cadmium plated spring steel and is
approximately 3 inches in diameter. When you solder 5 of them together
and stretch out over 150-200' you wind up with a fairly effective and
directional antenna. For simplicity it may be terminated and fed as a
regular wire Beverage.
W8JI and others who ran tests report the terminating impedence is in the
1000-1500 Ohm range. For best performance that would require a bit of
experimenting and a two step matching transformer.
I have been using the Slinky Beverage here for about 12 years and at this
QTH it often outperforms in SNR, compared to 580 to 750' wire Beverages.
