Later this week I am traveling to Raoul Island (Kermadec group) on
business. I will be operating from about 28 June - 15 July. The intended
topband antenna is an inverted L with elevated radials. I've just finished
making a compact amplifier (17" x 13" x 8", including psu!) to take along,
and managed to get 1100W out on 160M. Of course I will only be using it at
our countries legal limit of 400W. ;-)
I'll TRY to get on topband at my sunset (and sunrise, if the generator is
running), as well as other suitable times, for 10 minutes or so on as many
days as I can ... especially near the end of the trip when the work
commitments will be over. Watch out for ZL8RS with lousy and slow CW!
Lets see how it goes!!
