Just to let you know that I am still about! Heard W3UR calling CQ at
2349 GMT 559 but he could not hear my numerous replies.
Subsequently worked K1VW, K1UO and VE1ZZ around midnight with all
putting strong signals into Guernsey.
Still running the Paragon and Titan, just below our legal limit of 400
watts. My antenna is a sloper, fed at the end 7 feet above the ground
with 70 ohm TV coax, at an angle of some 30 degrees elevation. The top
is about 50 feet high with about some 20 feet bending back down towards
the ground from the apex. It passes above the 3el tribander which is
about 33 feet high on the tower. Garden is pure sand but the tower is
only 300 feet from the high water mark of the Atlantic, in a small bay
called Portinfer.
The working day sees me arriving at school at 7:00 GMT (8:00 local) to
face a few hundred students so please do not expect me to be on much
during the week. Hi!
Regards to all and best 73.
