After a week of staying up until 0200 local for XZ1N, without hearing
even a complete character, I had decided that sleep was essential
Thursday night.
However, at bedtime LFI was 569, so I was tempted to give it another
bash, even though propagation to Norway and XZ could hardly be described
as correlated.
Sure enough, at 2115, there he was at 569 with QSB and heavy QRN.
Called off and on for over 2 hours, until 2345z, when Robin peaked at
599, and heard first me then ZS5LB.
Sometimes there's a "smell" to a propagation change. (NB even though
LFI was on all night, I never heard one of the Eu stations Robin worked)
73, GL to all who still need him,
Greg, ZS5K
