with modest success for the past five years.
The sloper is worked off the top corner of a 100' (30m) tall 20'x 20' comm
structure.
The structure is festooned with microwave antennas, adjacent to the comm
module (think nine mobile homes in a 3x3 stack) over a sizeable ground
screen under several feet of gravel pad.
Should we be happy with the present antenna? Or would we be better off
trying something else?
Our station is located about 120' from the structure on the edge of the
ground screen and gravel pad.
We have a single 50' telephone pole (aka the Deadhorse National Forest)
about 300' away out on the tundra we can use for a support.
We could probably replace the sloper with an inverted vee or run a 1/2
dipole out to the far pole.
Would it be worthwhile to try and shunt-feed the structure (maybe that's
what we're already doing)?
