Seeing as the WX is finally below 90 (f) here
in the mid-south ... it's time to spend some
time here out in the yard, tinkering ... before
the freezing WX moves in.
I want to work on the next step of an 160m array here,
by building up one of the elements to 'de-bug'.
This antenna will be roughly 50-60' from one tower
that has several yagis on it, and about 90' away
from another similar tower, which has several yagis
on it AND is the present 160m xmit also using a
version of Tom, N4KG's idea. The three elevated radials
will have to be dropped for sure. The lot dimensions
do limit the spacing ... it's a BOA issue ! (Billy's Only Acre)
Now ... per the idea in ON4UN's book, I have a pair of
MFJ-931 "artificial ground" units to use here to "de-tune"
each of the towers. One tower "looks" to be about 105'
tall, and the other 152' "electrically" from some tests done
in the past ...
Anyone on here accomplished this "de-tuning" using
a similar process ? Suggestions ?
Is this the best method to use to try and "remove electrically"
the other vertical structures so that the new antenna idea can
be tested without undue influence from the other towers ?
TU !
