An easier solution to identifying noise sources in the house:

a) Go to the main circuit breaker panel in your house, and turn off everything
except the feed to the shack. See if any noise>sources go away. (If you have
a receiver which can run off battery, turn off the shack too.)

b) Turn on breakers individually (#1 on, then off... then #2 on, then off...
etc) to see what noise sources re-appear with each breaker. That will give
you a good clue as to where the offending device is located.

c) After you've determined which parts of the house have QRN-generators, you
can start pulling plugs on stuff individually in just that sector of the
house.
