Thanks for all the very helpful and astute suggestions.
Due to the inordinate snow cover, I ended up drawing from two of the
suggested methods. I tuned a signal generator to a quiet spot on a portable
am radio and ran the signal down the Beverage. It worked very well and I
easily could approximate the break location. Next I ran 12 volts dc down
the wire (blocking cap already in place at feedpoint gnd) and pierced the
wire with a pin and used a DVM to pinpoint (hi) the location.
