The International DX Convention at Visalia, California is next weekend
and I'm looking forward to the Topband DXers' dinner on Friday evening,
April 20th. There are still a few seats available, so if you would like
to join us, let me know at k6se@juno.com
On Saturday, 21 April 2001 the First Annual Topband DXers' Forum will be
held in the Birch Room at the convention from 10:00 to 11:30AM.
ARRL Membership Services Manager Wayne Mills, N7NG, who is serving as
Headquarters staff liaison with the ARRL 160-Meter Band Plan Committee,
will kick off the forum with a summary of what the committee is about
followed by a Q&A session.
After N7NG's presentation, tentatively scheduled is a presentation of
K7BV's and N6FF's East Timor DXpedition, highlighting the 160-meter
operation. N6FF also will play some sound bites of BQ9P's 160-meter
signal as received at N6FF.
DF2PY, W7LR, N7KA, N7JW and K6SE will present slide shows of their QTHs
and antenna farms. Some of those arrays are pretty huge, especially
N7JW's 10-element 160-meter array!
There might be time to show off the antenna farms of other Topbanders, so
if you have digital photos or 35mm slides you would like to show, please
bring them with you to the convention.
