Just for the record since I've seen conflicting answers to my posed
question... In the first scenario

1) Beverage would be approx 10 ft high perhaps 5 feet to the north running
east and west parallel with the power line and feed would be approx 250 feet
from the feed point to the shack

Second scenario
2) Put the beverage on the other side of the property with no power line
running east and west at 10 feet high... However the coax (or other feed
line, I have heard suggestions of twin lead) would have to be routed around
the back of the house , avoid the dog run and over the driveway to a point
closer to 500 feet away from the shack.

I'm sure this doesn't seem like much to many.. and I'm not opposed to
spending money however... I wonder if the "relocation " is worth the
potential savings.. Some say the Buried power line would probaly not affect
the reception. In addition my recent reading notes that this type of long
coax run may avail itself to stray currents.

What is everyone using for feedline.. I'd love to use hardline but.. unless
someone has these several hundred feet at the cost of cheap coax that won't
happen. Does the use on 300 ohm complicate matters when using a preamp,
transitioning to 50 ohms etc. is it worth the headache?

I'll be setting up a couple beverages and a couple verticals this year.
Yes.. cost does matter. But so does the headache (excitement) of setting up
the equipment.
Thanks to all who are walking me through this new adventure. I am finding
the 160 group to be truly gentlemen.
