G'day
My friend Phil VK6APH recently built the high pass filter that Greg ZL3IX
provided the circuit for - a seven-section Chebyshev. He used cheap
metalised polyester film capacitors, from a local high-street retailer (30
cents each).
The filter is ideal for placing ahead of a pre-amplifer used on a loop,
Beverage or pennant antenna and only has a a couple of dB loss at 1.8MHz,
easily overcome by the pre-amp. It reduced Phil's local BC station on
720KHz from S9++++ down to about S4 or less, so is highly recommended.
