Hi Barrie, I would definitely connect to it or any other metal objects that are within 200' of your vertical. I don't see how it could hurt and it might help a bit. During contests when I was in Colorado, I turned off our electric fencer to minimize noise and connected my ground directly to the electric fence...of course making sure my XYL did not accidentally turn it back on during the contest! ;-) 73, Bill W4ZV |
