I can't speak for other operators of W8JI, but I agree that it would be
great to have a rule so that multi ops may shut down for up to nine
hours (30 hour max would do that) without competitive penalty.  Of
course, if multi ops have to limit to 30 hours, that should be the
single op max also.

The new rule (was it 36 hours max?) for single ops will mean even fewer
QSOs for the multis in the daylight hours and even fewer other stations
calling CQ to remind us that there is some limited propagation in the
daytime.  In fact, I suspect that W8JI can usually work the eastern half
of the US plus VE3 and VE2 at noon if only there were stations active
who weren't already in the log.
