ICOM 746 PRO appears to be a decent small sized rig that may be a pretty
good low band radio - one that could be used for traveling with its
companion switching P/S.

But the radio doesn't have a connection for seperate rx antenna.

Has anyone tried to modify the radio to accommodate such a feature?

Or build something external that would allow an rx antenna to be used.

It does have a second coax tx/rx connection that would make switching to
another antenna possible but not practically nor safely for an rx
antenna.

Pse reply direct since this is of ltd interest.

Thanks
