Dipoles are very forgiving. I have an 80 meter dipole up about 80 feet
between 2 trees.
But, I could only fit about 80 feet horizontally. The remaining 40 feet (20
ft on a side),
hangs straight down along the tree trunk. This antenna while not the best,
works great and
even tunes up on 160.

I was trying to get this to resonate on 160 until I found out that her
Kenwood 690AT does not tune 160. It tunes all the other bands great. Now the
question.
If I cut the flat top to be resonant do I include the feeders in the length?
I constructed this antenna looking at the ARRL 19th edition of the Antenna
Handbook, page 7-3.
If the flat top has to be longer, can I add a droop to each end?
