Gentlemen:
My vertical has the house and driveway to the north, blocking buried radial
additions. Thirty feet to the south is a fresh water spring creek, 60 feet
wide.
I started installing clandestine marine radials of insulated #14 copper wire
in the creek, at a 2 to 5 ft depth, but then began to question whether this
is a good idea. I had assumed that these marine radials would further
disperse RF, similar to ground radials, while acting as a reflector at a 2
to 5 feet depth.
If these marine radials function similarly to radials buried in 2 to 5 feet
of soil, would they still be worth installing for signal enhancement?
