I guess I should have mentioned that the reason I wanted to
try the portable operation was to have a better 160M
antenna/ground than the small dipole with the openwire
feedline shorted and fed as a longwire that I use on my
small city lot now. The intent was not for any "advantage"
in scoring (as four folks apparently thought I was after).
Just seems like an inverted L over a salt water ground might
play pretty well.
