Here in the U.S. most all the HF bands have that division between the
cw/data portion and the phone/image portion. But a surprise to me is that
when I looked up Part 97 that you indicated above, I realized that there is
one band we can use cw/dat/phone/image across the entire band!
This means that you could use mixed phone and digital data or image on at
least one band. I am set up for a modest 160 meter station here and have a
couple of antennas to play with. Perhaps some of us could try this out in
the future.
Although I asked to be a participant in the alpha testing of SCAMP but was
not selected, I do expect to be able to try beta testing some time in the
next few months. So this could be interesting to see how it would handle the
noise issues and the generally sub-optimum antennas that are common on 160.
Oh yes, for that matter, I would be interested in trying other modes on 160
as well or other bands too.
